Redcliffe squire on softies
Hit the water early at spot x and ended up with 7 squire ranging between 37 and 43cm.Started in close in about 4 m of water and headed out deeper as the sun got higher in the sky.The water was extremely clear.Got the last one about 830 am in 7 m.

A good feed there Tangles......That clear water does make the fishing tough but going deeper as the light gets stronger is definately the way to go........I have the same problem during winter fishing the Wellington Point shallow reef.
Do you get bigger squire from your location in the summer months?

I havent tried in the summer yet as this is about my 4th session at redcliffe.Only been playing with the rubbers for about a year now.Am definatly hooked on squire on plastics. So i will be giving it a go through the summer months.

Re: Redcliffe squire on softies
Yes Leigh we do get better quality around Wello reef but just not in big numbers...........Last year we also encountered many sand flathead between the sandy patches on the reef.
We did a few night trips under the full moon during winter with the SP's and scored a few squire up to 60cm so just maybe those better quality fish could be up in the shallows during the night over the summer months.
Those grass sweetlip will start to appear as the water warms and boy you reckon the squire fight hard.......wait till a 40cm grassy hits the plastic..lol
Seabreeze.com.au is showing good conditions for next weekend so if they prove to be correct i will be out there hunting down a squire or three.
