    Spot around Surfers

I am taking the family for a couple of weeks R&R, leaving tomorrow, and going to Surfers Paradise.
I have managed to sneak a couple of light rods in, and hope to take the young fella for a bit of a fish, he can't go a week without a fish.Does anyone know where we can get a couple of fish, close to Surfers. (Don't have to be big, but easy access would be good, as the young fella's only got short legs

    Thanks and Cheers, Paul

Paul - maybe try some of the canals in the area, there are plenty of bridges and rock walls that should hold a bream or two to put a bend in the little blokes rod. probably get a street directory and pinpoint the places where there is a park next to the canal - cant go wrong, especially early morning or late arvo. good luck!

A very short drive and you are at the Southport Seaway. You can fish off the bank at the Seaway entrance or on the sand pumping jetty.

sharkbait has a good idea there,
try the west side of chevron island
just before going over the bridge
turn right and wet the lines around
there. another place for a relaxing fish
is budds beach. ubd map39 L3. enjoy.
never know what's around for a chew there.
