Why outboards?
Have been reading with ever decreasing interest the arguments that unfold in these threads over outboard motors.... And it got me thinking.. Why do people seem to not "bag" other brands of boat? Is one more personal than the other? Or do people think that all boats are great and have no faults? Curious to hear a big boat argument.

Re: Why outboards?
The ole Hartley boats are more seamen and versatile then any other boat produced last century.

Re: Why outboards?
Boats are generally quite robust and not much goes wrong. With age things do go wrong but this is expected. How often would you have your boat serviced???? Aha it is the motor that regularly gets serviced and it is the motor that has a minimul lifespan. There are a lot of different types of boats out there but there and the points to argue on have being argued. Most of the points to argue on are just personal preferences. (and these points include glass versus plate rough condition handling single hull versus twin etc) With the motor on the other hand people update more often and we can argue on power versus weight versus cost versus servicing requirements etc. There are also more radical changes made to the motors over the years as technology advances and this causes more arguments about which brand is in front.
Anyway there is no arguments with boats because everyone knows that the Sharkcat is the best. There we go I have just started a boat argument.

Re: Why outboards?
I want to argue with you Steve, But i just cant seem to find the enthusiasm for it. Maybe we need Kerry, or Copey, or BM os someone that seems to enjoy a good bit of to and 'fro.
Fellas?
Roughasguts, whats a bilge liner? And are you referring to my old Haines?
