fishing spots for the novice?

I have just found the great enjoyment that one gets from fishing, much like a new found Christian! However i am in need of some help in finding some good fishing spots to enjoy my new found passion! Can anyone help? Logan in my area

Do you have a boat,how big? What species do you want to chase?
Fishing in brisbane is very hit and miss with the number of recreational anglers out there you have to target specific species at certain times of the year, if you want to catch a feed.
I can most certainly help but i need the above information.
