Re: mackrek form around Ballina
Fishyfrost, I'm only 20minutes down the road at Casino.
Word has it that there have already been a few spotties taken at woody. However the action won't really start to heat up until March April at Evans.

Re: mackrek form around Ballina
hey fishyfrost, happy to supply anyone with a few starter marks, my advice off ballina is explore, ( & match out for sharks laying on the surface, full hit one, 1st time ever, wednesday morning 1 mile from the bar, my boat weighs around a tonne, stopped us dead at 23knts, 3 foot crack in my ####ing keel, damaged 2 month old motor.!!!) lennox 32 : 28.49.620 153.41.940 ballina 32 : 28.54.965 153.40.852 pippies( in close) 28.53.375 153.35.485 sth 32 : 28.59.613 153.39.825......if you want more out 1s let me know, & just a word on ballina bar, BE BLOODY CAREFUL, you have to cross 6-7 swells to get out, & if you can , dont buy something too small, cos it can get scarey coming home too. muzz

Re: mackrek form around Ballina
hey banshee, i dont think a winch would be much good in 120fthm, too long to go down, 5mins freespooling. the marks provided before are just starters, all i had 5years ago courtesy of 250gps spots book, have other wider marks if anyone wants them, noone gets the sambo pin, caught that one in may with only my 13 yr old on board, 7 hook ups in 2hrs, only stopped 2. muzz

Re: mackrek form around Ballina
Yeh Muzz it's not bad but atleast 6 kilo short of yours I'd say,ah well gives me something to aim for.I find with the winches the best way to move the bigger fish is to use the swell to pump and wind,as the boat goes down wind up the slack, hopefully the swell will lift the fish ready for another wind.
