Re: gold coast broadwater bream where?
Warrior, I've heard a couple of recent reports of bream being caught around Wavebreak Island. I can't vouch for these, as I have not fished there lately, but I have done OK in this area in the past.
There is a deep hole just off the rocks on the SE corner of the island which holds bream at times, and anywhere along the north wall is also worth a try at this time of year.
Near the green beacons just south of the island is an area known as "the logs". There are/were some fairly large pieces of timber which were in fairly shallow water outside the main channel, and could be seen at low tide, but they fished well on a rising tide at night, or before dawn. I'm not sure if they are still above the sand or have been covered up, but if they are still there, they would be worth trying.
On a weekend I would expect that all of the above spots will have boats on them, so if there are boats parked west of the green beacons, it's likely that they are fishing there for bream.
Can't help with SP's or lures, I only ever fished there with baits.
Cheers, Deegee.

Another great place to fish is near the pipline on the south of straddie. make sure you fish on the incoming tide.
as a hint, fish incoming tide on the north wall of wavebreak island,
another good spot is opposite the boat ramp next to seaworld. i think ti middle green marker, produces good bream at night .

Me and a mate fished all the boats moored at the pontoons.
Head south from seaworld and where there is heaps of boats at the bend...theres some sort of sailing club on the corner.....SE corner anyway.
We fished with poppers and got 15 good bream....only prob. you must fish early, once all the toffs get to there boats about 10am, they start telling you all about how important they are and how they have more right to be on the water than you.D***heads Hope this helps, Sean

Re: gold coast broadwater bream where?
Fished the Nerang yesterday with plastics for 30 plus legal bream to 33cm fork length, didn't catch many unders, about a dozen all up. Most of the legals averaged 27-29 to the fork. our best 5 ranged from 30 -33cm to the fork. All caught on gulps in various styles with no standouts. Fished both canals and main river. Hope this helps.
Cheers Ian
PS found that the boat trafic on the main river did not affect the fishing.
