Raymarine A series sounders DS 400&500

Does anyone know if there is any advance hand books or dvd on sounder reading for this model.
The owners handbook that come with the sounder does not go into detail on the topic only goes into what features it has.

I know Raymarine will be publishing a vidio on their website on this topic but have not as yet.
So if ya know anything #please let me know

Top question as I have just bought a Raymarine DS500 and have been searching for a video or DVD as well.

Does anybody know how to ensure this series of sounders hold the manual depth and gain settings when sounder is turned off?

If so please post the technique as I see the reversion back to auto operation on the next power up as a major problem.
