I know..I know..am already an idiot..beat you all to it....BUT...

new rod is almost ready and have the new reel and..wait for it..some plastics..yep..ol Mr chook gut lover is going to have a crack at some fish on plastics. I won't be holding my breath for any results but hell...everyone else seems to catch bream and flathead on the things so I thought I might give it a try. I have absolutely no idea what I will be doing..do I use pumpkinseed...psychodelic purple with yellow polka dot plastics? How do I cast this tiny bloody egg beater reel. For those that may be fortunate enough when I attempt this modern marvel ..have ya cameras ready..i am sure this could be one of the funniest things you will ever see.

I doubt the fish population will be in any great danger...but..once I have caught a bream or flathead on the things (if that day ever occurs) I may even have a crack at the Wello squire...but then again...perhaps the chook gut will call come next bream season...at least I know I can do well on that.

I also haven't a clue. Kids laugh at me. I don't know if it's because I can't use plastics or is it because I'm just plain ugly.
Can you use them (SP's) with a 3 1/2 or 4" Alvey cause that all I use/got.

Hi Pinhead,
Get some Berkley gulps in pumpkinseed. We finally gave in and got some last week. (many Ausfishers have been talking them up ages) Went up to the bay on saturday, fished bait all day nothing. Put on the 3" fry in P-seed, two fish in 5min. 1 sole and 1 school mack. This got me all fired up, maybe i can catch fish after all. Up at 6am sunday, down to Hastings Creek, no hook ups but some nice hits. I doubled my soft plastics quoter in 5 min. Before sat only 2 flatheads on sp's.
