Well with al these sharks here at the moment in S.A we just have to be on our guard a little bit more.....The reason why these sharkis are in the metro area as present it is to be believed that some drop kick thought he would get rid of a horse....thats why the white is around aperently by what pirsa has had to say that they have been monitering the Sharks as there appears to be 2 whites and 4-5 bronzies in the metro regions...
Also 6kg midget ey brian getting out of the tamer that is only just a get out of bed fish mate...Seriously not a bad fish 12-13 pound.....
it seems ya having bit of a bad run thou brian with everything go wrong with ya....Arrrrgh well mate as ya said its times like that it really tests ya.... but the things we do to go fishing....

Hi Mick, Joe, Brian
Fisrt of all
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Now with that said
The weather hasnt been kind for fishinout wide, but been plenty of 1kg silver and small salmon to be had for a bit of fun on light line, hooked a bloody swell shark of about a meter on 6 pound line the other day, got the bloody thing to the boat to get the hook out and the knot on the 20 pound leader give up (saved dehookin) took a while to get up in 10 meters of water.
Lets all hope for some settled weather in 2003
Joe

Re: Tassie Bluefin
Gday Rob
A goodoo is a Murray Cod mate
just the other weekend there was at least 10 sharks spotted of the metro beaches here in South oz ranging from 5ft to 10 ft bronzies and also a few whites hanging around....
the Government here in South Australia are that dam Stupid they put on helicopters t scare the sharks out of deeper water in which it was working and now they have decided they will stop the service of this.....
As it is known that south Australia gets the pearly whites showing up on our beaches every year Specially this time of year.....
Joe i also seen that there was a gal taken by a shark today but she was very lucky to survive....dont they have shark nets up there in Queensland?
anyway cheers

Re: Tassie Bluefin
Hi Mick
Only saw the report this morning, we have shark nets on the popular beaches, but this happened 40 k out from cairns on a coral cay. couldnt have been too big a shark it said it latched onto her arm and took chunks out ?? was suposed to be a hammerhead, no size was mentioned.
cheers.

Re: Tassie Bluefin
Gday Joe
Mate i only caught the tale end myself mate of the shark so i didnt really know exactly where just heard it happened up there in Qld
But i think they should put Shark nets around the metro regions of adelaide as we commonly get Whites showing up... but the only problem i see is that its going to kill alot of fish in the process
cheers

Re: Tassie Bluefin
Hi all
never seen a shark net protecting a beach, but they would have very large mesh that smaller fish could get through, any way ban all nets and if you get in their (sharks) envoiroment you need to be careful
less people get killed by sharks than cars
cheers

Re: Tassie Bluefin
Hi Guys
The nets seem to be affective, there is at times though the odd dolphin, small whale or turtle is meshed up though. They are checked everyday and usually if something other then a shark is meshed we soon hear about it, but don't quote me on this, you never know what goes on behind the scenes. I have heard of boats up to 16 foot being dragged down by them though when the mesh has entangled the props. They are well marked so don't know why boats would be so close to them. Will see if I can find more out for you.
cheers.
joe.
