Camera Not a Gopro but still

    Got one of these cameras from K m a r t
    $49
    I have a gopro hero2,
but for the money these little cameras are good value.
Page 19 in their catalogue a gear2go action camera
    http://www.kmart.com.au/Catalogue/Ca...atalogueID=573

I've used one before my mate had 1 he paid $129 for it at Jaycar
different box and shop but its the same camera

    http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=QC8018

    So i went in today and got a gear2go form K $49

Looked in the book at the specifications and its the same camera.

So if you wanted a gopro and thought they were too dear for you $300
You could try one of these not bad for that price
    and not bad video either.
Get one and lets see some fishing videos Ect
    and no i don't work for K.
Just saying somebody might want one or a cheap back up
    or more angles

OH and you will also need a card

Note: The high performance of this camera requires the use of a class 10 MicroSD. Use of a class 4 MicroSD card will not guarantee best performance. Using a class 4 MicroSD card will result in error messages from the camera requesting you to format the MircoSD card, this is because class 4 MicroSD cards are not suitable for this camera. When using a class 10 MicroSD card this fault will not be displayed, and will work normally in the camera.

battery life of a hour is a killer for what I want. Have you had a look and can a bigger capacity battery be fitted or is the battery built in and soldered or inaccessable?

Still cheap for a little waterproof jobby.

The problem with a lot of these cheaper cameras ( and even some not so cheap) is the sound quality (as can be seen by the sample video) .... so used in a windy/ noisy environment ie most action situations. they are disappointing.

    but hey - for $50 ........
Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

The sound in that surfing video is because it is in the water proof case
my Gopro makes the same type of sound when its used for that type of thing
This cam comes with another holder for the camera and when its in that the sound is not too bad
all cameras get that windy sound outside in the wind but that is easily fixed with a filter thing
over the mic isn't it ask the other video experts on there

    Attachment 86986 Attachment 86987

I don't have a you tube account so i cant put a video on here
    but
    somebody may be able too

    cormorant
My Gopro will record while its hooked up to the ciggy lighter thing
    with its usb cable
i will try this now with this camera
No that failed but it will recharge

I put it on Hd and it recorded nonstop for 1hr 45 minutes

    Thanks Spin.

Aldi NSw selling these $69 on 15th in NSW . There is so many avaliable via eprey as well these days so hard to choose something but the gopro style ones have a better rep and that comes from accessories that they use as much as the camera itself.

We have been using the nokia sports tracker on phones for sailing showing speed, direction and snapping photos and video that gets a icon on you track when you download it for a couple of years now. Not a action cam as such but phones have got so good for the small lens that have. There is even a app for car mounting the phone to act as a car accident camera as well .

These others are great when you don't want to risk a phone or good camera .

Just bought a Gopro 3 Silver, duty free. But this one looks the goods. For $49.00 it is hard to go wrong. Plus if it gets lost, stolen or damaged it's only $49 instead of $349

I agree with smithy, you blokes, just arent reading your catalogues properly, however I think the grey version was the best of the lot.. IMHO..

Plugged in to USB "spin" above said it wouldn't record , Hmm I was thinking extension battery as well. Batteries in the 2 I've looked at are soldered in so you can't switch batteries. Was thinking to solder in a bigger AMh battery.

I havn't got my hands on a aldi one yet but documents say battey is fixed but with a bigger case it may have more room ? .
