windscreen or wave breaker
im getting near to having the tub ready to prime- paint and am looking at the windscreen because its fooked it will need replacing.
I have seen a few boats of late that have wave breakers on them instead of screens
and was tossing up the idea of building one instead of a new screen .
any pro's / cons from people who have a wave breaker on their boats would be great.
this is the front of my boat

Re: windscreen or wave breaker
Wouldn't a wave breaker force you to stand up while driving?
That would be a pain.

Re: windscreen or wave breaker
What about a fully tempered toughened glass screen - best of both worlds. My old Vag has it as standard.
Cheers

I guess unless you intend to un a dangerous bar everyday then a windscreen is a thousand times more practical, on a "normal" rec fishing boat, it is not needed.

Re: windscreen or wave breaker
If you are going to use the boat for commercial purposes then a wave breaker is an appropriate choice.
In my opinion I think they look very wanky and try-hard on a recreational boat.
A windscreen is far more practical and lighter too so balance will be better.
