    Dan,
No, like most of them they will have security that will move you on, or the whole place will be fenced off, but you can forget the early mornings, drifting the seaway as thats when most ships arrive at ports. also probable three or four tugs buzzin around it'll be a shit fight.

I for one really hope it dont happen, well at least at wave break isl... I am for building a wall out the front of the mirage a kilometre out. it might also stop the beaches getting washed away.
Its only one mans dream and he's a loose cannon.

With all due respect Wayno, it is the Gold Coast.
Seems they are wanting to make it a stop over, attracting tourists.

Just think of all those tourists, get off the boat get a gut full and lose a packet at the casino, then they can forward journey to Brisbane where they can dock at
GrainCorp and be escorted by a forklift through the dust to a waiting taxi,, hey another Casino...

Great stuff Campbell, seems he has teared the Gold Coast a new one but Brisbane is still waiting, maybe not enough Casinos yet ......

Would be an absolute winner for the coast and Queensland. Sometimes progress is a good thing.

yes i agree it would be good but ive seen plans of what they can build straight out into the ocean, say out the front of the mirage and i would live with that. Just not in the seaway.

Count me in. I will be there. I'm not going to sit around and watch some dick build some monstrosity in one of our most beautiful fishing, snorkeling, diving and surfing spots in sth east queensland. Put it somewhere that won't disturb everyone from what they love doing in one of their favorite places. The broad water and the seaway is a shitfight on the best of days. Add a cruise liner and a tug and kiss everything goodbye.

Yes it would be good for the gold coast, get more people in and create more jobs. Gods knows we all need jobs, At the cost of what though
Where will the mantra of we need to grow bigger we need to develop more more more end. How about hey flatten straddie for a hotel resort for the guests aswell, and while we are at it wont the surf views be great there as well lets get rid of those sand dunes.
Money making corporations will want this one day as well, when do we say enough taken is enough taken

    Re: Save our spit.

Now this is and interesting debate, just recently I was on a cruise ship and one of the stops was Broome. Now I have seen lots of fish caught off the Broome jetty but only in documentaries so thought it would be a great experience to just spend the day on the jetty chatting and watching the proceedings. Alas, this wasn't the case, a cruise ship was in so the jetty was closed not only to fishing but all pedestrian traffic.

That in my extremely humble opinion SUCKS as I would have liked to just walk it to see what it looked like. If this is what the spit is in for then it is for the Holy $ and nothing else and guess who owns the cruise ship that will be stopping there, most probably Carnival Lines and therefore the benefits will go OS again.
