The factory ship Margiris is now called Abel Tasman after federal regulators approved its reflagging.
Its home port is Brisbane and that means it needs further certification from Queensland authorities.
Once this is completed, Seafish Tasmania will apply to have its 18,000 tonne quota transferred to the trawler.

apparently it won't be fishing in queensland waters, it just uses brisbane as it's base and will still fish the same waters that it would have fished if was based down south. what's astonishing about this is that our state government have made it welcome when other state governments have made it unwelcome. Is this how the LNP will be responsibly manageing our fisheries or even our environment?????? ie. if you come here with enough money you can do anything you like????? that's the sort of thing that happens in third world east africa, surely not in first world east coast australia ..............................
