Hi guys and any girls.. Who's going to the boat show on the 13-8-2012 to the 26-8-2012 at the convention center ??
I'm holding to go Friday but would like to see the Lowrance rep show center stage...
As well as seeing how much lighter my wallett will be at departure time.......

There's a new model Hatteras, the GT63. Didnt go to the Sydney show to see if they were there...so if anyone is going could u do me a favour and pick one up for me. I sure would appreciate a few trips out on it just to see if it goes ok

btw...beware of blokes just backing in and hitching up the sailfish cats. Some people must think they're free or something.

Went yesterday and gee, it was a lot smaller than previous years. I got myself some sunnies, and some free stickers for the boat when it comes. There was hardley any sub 4 metere boats there, which I'm in the market for. The presitation at the fishing stage about Flathead by Leanne Payne was excelent, it was also helped by the fact that she's a bit of a hottie, especially when there was some old grey nomad from Tassie speaking before her. Plus I scored a Hummingbird hat off her at the end of her talk..... Mmmm now that makes her score higher as a hottie me thinks.

Oh an there were some half naked promo girls there too,... Which I commented to .... Ya may as well just flash the crowd,. Go on, ya know ya want to.

Worth a try,... Ya never know what ya get with a bit of a bait.

On our way home from the boat show and it was certainly nothing to write home about.

Alot of activity around the family orientated boats! ie: Baysport. There is something missing to bring it back to life?

yep have to agree, really only went there for one purpus, to buy a motor. one quick lap and we were out having lunch down by the river at 1.00pm.

Went to look at TABS and Sea Jay 4.8m to 5.1m Territory style boats. None there! Oh well, 3 hours drive 2 hours flight and a nights accomadation, one way, nearly wasted. Checked out the Blue Fin Firecat on the Broadwater display and it ticked most of the boxes. Nice boat! Chatted to Troy from Sea Jay,liked the striker but might stretch the relationship between self and minister for finance and war a bit too much. Checked out the Karee Marine crew. Got to talk to the Lowrance and Humminbird rep as well as Min Kota. I learnt alot about goods and sales techniques so I won't say it was a waste of time, but definately alot less goods than I saw about 3 years ago at the RNA. A few dealers reckon there are too many shows at too high a cost for them to attend all of the time. They could be right with high overheads and a depressed market. One rep told me it cost around 50,000 for one of the displays. Big coin when you work off the profits of each sale.
Oh well, off to Townsville in a couple of weeks to look at the 2 brands mentioned above. Hopefully wil have a decision by the end of next month.
