Re: can i get some advie on seafaer, quality & ride?
To answer the question on quality and ride. both excellent. the ride is much better with tabs. stability is great.
As far as wet goes, I was worried it would catch me out when I bought my Vagabond. The cab is not packed to the hilt with junk and the closest its been to spearing was a small splash over the bow sprit in very ordinary conditions.
You get a bit over the sides when beam on.
as an earlier post said, it needs to be 20knots and head on. trim out and a bit more speed is all thats needed.
cheers Stu

Offshore and quintrex are two words that should NEVER be used in the same sentence.

This one is a no-brainer. In Mackay and all. Go for a test drive.

You're not wrong, those 2400's would have never been this side of $100k not so long ago.

Re: can i get some advie on seafaer, quality & ride?
There are only old if they have been mistreated. Get them checked out by a surveyor and go from there. Up the road from me this week were 2 Haines V19c's, must have been at least 94 models and they looked like new. I am learning that it is better to judge the boat on it's merits rather than it's year of manufacture.

Re: can i get some advie on seafaer, quality & ride?
It would be hard to go past the KC2400's in that price and size bracket. It is all about condition as the construction and layout has not changed much if at all in the last few years, so it boils down to the condition of the boat and in particular the motors. If you can get one with 140 Suzuki's you can't go too far wrong if they are in good nick. When I was looking in that bracket a few years back I just couldnt go past the KC2400, and they weren't that cheap second hand back then, great buying these days in this market. I loved mine so much that I moved up to the KC3000. You will need to drive the KC2400 like any cat and they take a bit of getting used to the way they move in the water if you haven't been on small cats before, however once you get your head around them you will never look back.
There are a couple of guys on here that are recent converts to KC2400's and they might be able to chime in about getting used to them, but I was able to do it quite easily so anybody can.
Good luck with the shopping, great time to be a cashed up boat buyer at the moment.
Cheers,

Re: can i get some advie on seafaer, quality & ride?
Boats aren't cars. What the other guys have all said. Don't be concerned about the Yammies on the 2400s. Pre '06 I think it was 90-115-140 Suzukes are not 100% bulletproof. Had a mate look at a Seajay the other day. Had never been washed and salt all over it and it was late model. You will be better off with something a few years old that has been well looked after than something late model that has had no love.
