Re: another happy solas costomer
I recently replaced my perfect Yamaha prop with a Solas one. I was going to go for alloy but my motor is counter rotating so couldnt get what I wanted in counter...solas did me a 4 blade stainless and got it spot on for $600 delivered next day to NSW and if it wasn't right i had the option of swapping it for free, good enough for me. The yamaha prop I had was a bastard, cavitated BADLY and just wasn't right. Haven't had any issues with the Solas, recommendation from me anyday

I agree mate when i set up boat it was on flat day with same trim different rpm even used video on cav plate to check engine height, havnt run prop since repitching hope to sunday and yes it was a full number smaller than advertised.
With what I have learnt to date if i go 4 blade i will buy up one size and have it scanned and pitched to suit, will post results after testing

I would like to know where you get these half price props form in the US as stated. In doing the actual figures of importing vs local actual quoted prices on a specific identical prop, I found the initialsaving seems closer to $100 - $200 and with no warranty on the import or no support to exchange if wrong, it makes better sense to support our own local guys for lots of reasons, they have certainly been very good to me. If I had imported my props it definitely would have cost me more cause I am sure that the US dealers don't take the props back if not quite right and even if they did the freight would kill it.

Re: another happy solas costomer
Titan 3 or 4, amita 3 or 4 take your pick all can be had from the US inc international priority USPS post for around half price.
Even better if there are some other items ( smallish ) you may wish to purchase then have them slip into the prop box.
Not just Solas either but Hustler and Genuine Mercury and Quicksilver.
Of course returns are not viable but heck its a big wide world out there all at your fingertips these days to gather all the info you need to purchase the correct prop ie number of blades, diameter , pitch and albeit stainless or aluminium.
Just an example the HR Titan 4 for mid range stuff US List Price $ 390.00 inc shipping to Aus 5-10 USPS priority Intl
Same application part numbered prop here from Solas $ 750.00
No brainer really.

Note guys, my Titan prop from USA had a " made in Thailand" sticker.
If you can find the factory, it could be even cheaper! Lol

Re: another happy solas costomer
Well after making all three blades the same size on my Solas and removing 1" of pitch I lost no top end speed at all !
Punches out of the hole shitloads better has made boat alot better offshore in the shit conditions today outside the SPB.
Prop slip has been reduced from nearly 10% down to .03 Amazing what a proper grind and pitch setting can achieve
