    Merc 175hp 2002 2 stroke fuel burn?

Anyone have a rough idea what sort of economy this motor would have?

I wouldn't have the cash to replace the motor so if it sucks the juice it makes it a real tough one because this boat ticks a lot of boxes.

Why not contact the seller and ask for his figures?

Going by the cowl on the motor, its an efi, which are 10pc better than carby. Knock old mate down a few grand and forget about fuel usage. It does look a well cared for rig.
I've run out of clever stuff to say, so... Umm...

that rig will cruise using around 30 ltr per hr,i had a 602f with a 135 carbie ,it was good on fuel.,if you got that for 35k or less it would be a good buy imop

ozynorts they are not as bad as everyone makes out. If you keep the revs to around the 4000rpm mark you should get better than 1k/L. I get 1.2 - 1.3 k/L out of a 5.9metre boat with a 98 model 175 merc efi.

If I can get it close to $40k it will be hard to ignore.

I have 150 2002 efi pushing hull weight of approx 1400 kg fully loaded with 180 lt fuel gear and 2-3 blokes, fuel burn wot 70lt hr @ 40 knt, fast cruise 28 knt burn approx 36lt hr, slow cruise 20 knt aprox burn 25lt hr, troll 7-9 knt burn 16-19 lt hr figures based on moderate swell on 1-2m. We run 35-40 k offshore and troll 5-6 hrs run back in burn for the day approx 140lt, we carry 20-40 lt spare fuel in jerry cans as back up but have never needed them. In a perfect world I would swap for 4/ or etec but the 15-20k is a lot of extra fuel.

Great motor, I don't think you would be disappointed with that rig.

No point making things idiot proof, they'll only make a better idiot.
