Super Trawler Coming To Aus Waters

What the hell are they letting this thing into our waters for? This really makes a mockery of all the reasoning behind marine parks in my opinion

"A MASSIVE foreign super trawler _ the second largest commercial fishing vessel in the world _ will be allowed by the federal government to fish in Australian waters for the favourite food of bluefin tuna and albatross and a myriad of other marine life.

The 142 metre long Dutch-owned Margiris will be the biggest trawler to ever fish Australian waters and specialises in the type of factory fishing environmentalists claim is unsustainable.

The government has approved the ship being re-flagged and moving to Tasmania, where it will be allowed to catch up to 17,500 tonnes of small baitfish each year under a joint venture with Seafish Tasmania."

The ship will be fishing from NSW to WA and will be selling the fish as cheap food into Asia and Africa. Christ it almost makes me want to join the greenies as much as that would stick in my craw

Hey dave im selling a marlin next weekend id say about 400kg will be fresh too if your interested. Haven't actually caught it yet but its out here so it must be a sure thing the government says so....
lets send our good fish away in bring in the fish from poisoned river systems. They say you cant make everyone happy as a government but surely your not looking to piss everyone off.
