Shimano 2500 spool on 2000 body?

Hi folks,

Just wandering if anyone knows, will a 2500 twinpower spool fit on a 2000 twinpower body? Bit hard to check as the 2000 isn't sold over here. Specifically I'm referring to the older twinpowers from around 2005.

hey steve, dont know if this helps but i have an older twinpower 5000 with a 6000 spool. regards, tony.

I don't think a 2500 spool fits a 2000 body. I've got a Japanese Twinpower 3000 sized spool on a 2500 sized body...so it seems unlikely.

Well if anyone's interested, yes the 2500 spool fits on the 2000 body. I had a 2500 spool left over from a damaged reel and found a 2000 on the net. Turns out the body is the same. Only difference is the handle knob and the spool. I can't say it will work for all models, but in this case it did.
