Hey rosco I have a Shimano 12000 bait runner that I rate !
Just has enough drag to pull trolling board on rear drag, would be good for sharks to leave on bait runner
12kg of drag on main spool 300m of 60lb braid with backing

Re: general offshore and bay reel

Hey Rosco, as you know most of my gear is shimano but if i could get any of those reels for that price, i would be buying all three. Let me know which one he decides to buy and i will by the other two. Will even throw some beers your way.

    Cheers Mick

PS. I would go the stratic, but his choice could be my gain.

i have a stradic 8000 and its a great reel with a nice drag. in fact i have had half a dozen stradics and find they are a great reel for a good price. you could go lighter if using plastics.

Re: general offshore and bay reel

Stradic over a biomaster ?????? What the. Stadics are a decent reel for sure but nothing compared to the biomaster sw. If he can get the biomaster for around $250 he would have to be nuts to go for either of the other two reels.

The biomaster is replacing the twinpower and is shimanos number two reel below the stella although a distant second. Mate stradics simply dont compare although i understand people recomending them as they are a good reel and many people own them and are happy. I use an 8000 sustain which is just below a biomaster and the boat i go out on has the stradic 8000 and there is a difference. If you could find the old model 8000 sustain on special i would also go that over the stradic.

Hey Rosco, did you get a price for a biomaster 8000? I am about to buy one so if he has one close to the above price I'll grab it
