New Colorado: anyone know anything?
I'll be in the market for a Crewcab Ute any time, and this has a 3.5 tonne towing capacity. Given I want to be back in a 685 Outsider within a year, it's a good option! I know the 2.8 Duramax diesel is a good donk - it's been doing the rounds in the USA for a while and is supposed to be good. Thoughts?

Re: New Colorado: anyone know anything?
I just bought a 2012 Dmax Auto $15K cheaper than the Colorado 4speed auto best thing I've driven for a long time.
Yes they are a truck inside but for the 15K i saved i can buy a lot of Barry White Cd's, Cant get enough of your love Baby
BTW I tow a 6m Evolution would be 2T or over fully loaded and still get 9.5km/l
cheers

Re: New Colorado: anyone know anything?
Yeah 52 grand with all the bells and whistles, but the base model will be 46K, so sweet Felicity Arkwright difference, and the Mrs likes the mod cons. Plus bar and other add ons of course. I need the 3.5 towing, as the CC685 will be close to 3 on the trailer with fuel plus gear.
The DMax ute will be retaining the 3.0 litre diesel. It's got 2500 kg max towing, and at 333Nm and 120kW, I think it's sub par compared to the new one at 470Nm and 132 Kw, with a broader power band as well with the variable geometry Turbo. Sounds fun!

Re: New Colorado: anyone know anything?
I own the last of the old shape colorado's its a great vehicle, from what I'm hearing the new ones are becoming a holden captiva type fourbee.
The new 3.2 ford ranger is the way to go 3.35 tonne towing and the base model has a lot of bells and whistles.
Drove one at work and would trade the collie tommorrow if I could.
Long wait though all the mines etc are buying them quicker than they can make em , a lot of mobs replacing their cruiser utes with them.
Great car.

Re: New Colorado: anyone know anything?
only 2 engine choices 2.5 and 2.8 turbo diesel 3000kg tow on 2.5l and 3500kg on the 2.8 5 speed manual and 6 speed autos big inside and out auto apparently go like a rocket in the 2.8 compared to the old 3L auto

Re: New Colorado: anyone know anything?
$62k for an XLT Auto - nah go somewhere else if that is just a base spec.
I am paying less than that for one fully loaded with ARB bar, Aeroklass canopy, UHF/DVD and all the mats and crap.
New Colarado was a big disappointment to me - still a generation behind Amarook and Ranger and just bloody awful inside.

Re: New Colorado: anyone know anything?
I need to clarify:
The Colorado I am talking about is not in Australia yet. Holden expect to be able to show me one in June and it is a completely different vehicle to the current model; the new one certainly has all the bells and whistles. Again, it is front and centre for me because of the 3.5 tonne towing capacity. I may need every ounce of that because I plan to either buy a CC685, or I may get a monster platey built, depending on whim (and Business), I guess. So 3.5 tonne it is. I'm only really interested in what people have to say about what they may know of the Colorado, though side comments are fun and enjoyable to read, they are not informative. Thanks

Re: New Colorado: anyone know anything?
There are selected dealers around now with the new generation Colorado that you can test drive. Village Holden has and I did go for a test drive so my comments are based on that unit not the old model.
They haven't sold them yet so you are not going to get owner comments just interested people in the market to buy similar. I was and decided the Ranger in my opinion ticked more boxes. You can also get a GVM suspension Upgrade on the Ranger through ARB when new - another 100kg I think.
You should buy the Colorado - be interested to see how it goes but if you are still along way from your boat wait a while till more info on the next gen hilux comes through. I bet Toyota will step up to the plate with a V6 TD for the next one

Re: New Colorado: anyone know anything?
Sorry if my comments on the ford ranger were not what you were asking Timiboy.
The 4wd action site http://www.4wdaction.com.au/forum has a model specific forum with some talk about the new collie , may have to join to read .
Thanks
