Grosvenor Creek, Moranbah
Noticed Grosvenor Creek coming into Moranbah the other day. Looks rather muddyish, does anyone know the creek, ever fished it? Any fish in it, is it worth walking the banks for a try? If so, you recommend flies or little lures? Appreciate any feedback.
Cheers
Mike

Too many people are heading home for a sleep or heading for work. Not so long ago that creek was 100m wide.

Mate have had a flick in the Grosvenor out on the main highway where it runs into the Issacs with spinnerbaits and have landed a few perch and little sootys.

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Hi Mike
Back on the Peak downs Hwy (north of the Moranbah turn off)where the Issac and Grovsenor meet near the bridge. I have heard the locals discuss catching Yellowbelly in a few of the holes? I have also heard of Yellowbelly being caught in Nebo and Denison creeks.
This is not surprising as there is a natural population of Yellows' in the Dawson river near taroom. The Dawson flows into the Fitzroy, same as the Issac, Nebo and Denison.![]()

I fished Grosvenor Crk with small minnows in orange/brown and red/gold colours and got good size grunter.Walk up the crk around 3-400mtrs and look for tree roots forming along the bank.I parked in the Drag Bucket car park and just wandered up the creek casting as i went.Wish i had more time there to explore a bit more.Definately worth the effort.Jim
