Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking
Repairer has received the cheque 50% payment for boat repairs - so with this clearing this week the boat will go in for repairs Friday or Saturday.
I will post some pics of it fixed.
Cheers

Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking
Thanks for all the support, concern and prayers for my son.
He went in for chemo central line Monday some more scans yesterday and commenced chemo today - will get heavy chemo 5 days a week for 8 weeks then operation on lungs then chemo and radiation to lungs - going to be a tough gig again.
He is such a strong little person and as his mum says that makes the cancer a very strong cancer too as it is formed from his own cells. Chemo kills the cells and as such it has to be very high doses or potency.
Anyone who knows about blood will know neutrophil levels in a normal healthy person sit at about 6 where chemo patients drop to between 1 and 2 - during Ronnies last "high-risk" treatment were dropping to 0.1 - what do neutrophils do? They are our immune system and they are also an indication of our wellbeing and condition during treatment - yet even with these low numbers he was still skipping, singing and dancing into the ward for chemo or radiation - amazing!
After his treatment we will use ourselves a different approach such as Budwig Diet to convert cells from cancer to healthy with diet - may just be better to convert than kill if any remnant cells after the treatment - we hope and pray there aren't any cancer cells left, but we did hope and pray after his first go and here we are 9 months after chemo finished - wrong so this time no complacency.
The oncologists aren't giving us a third shot at this - everything counts on this time succeeding - having said that though, I will never give up whilst there is hope and although they give him 50% we will work as hard as we can to increase that every day.
He is a 7yo boy so we will offer him things we know he can manage as well, but must admit he is becoming more receptive and accepting to not so pleasant experiences through necessity.
In some ways it is sad to see in him, his eyes are showing the eyes of an older child from life's experiences where alongside his buddies who still have the gaze of childish naivety, but in other ways Ronnie also has a very precious awareness of life and joy.
God bless him and God save him - he deserves it, the little chap is a real fighter and has a will to live greater than anyone I have seen.
Here he is last Saturday playing his last game of soccer - so full of life.

What can we say..... words fail.
When I saw his photo it shocked me anew how cruel cancer is. He has everything going for him with an attitude like that, and all your support and love.
Science is great but it doesn't yet understand the deep mysteries of the body, so it can't yet explain why attitude seems to play such an important part in the fight against cancer. His approach, and your support, give him a better chance than the doctors are willing to say. Hang in there and don't hesitate to ask for help if you need anything.

Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking
Hi Trev.
I have just read your thread again for the first time in a couple of months and wow....what a journey you have been through!
Seems you have faced some of the lowest lows a Father and Boatie can take and yet after all this time and fighting you have won at least one battle that seemed almost impossible to win….
…David taking on Goliath & you have finally won!
Thank God for this victory!...and what a relief that you don’t have to stress about this anymore, but of course I will continue to stand with you in prayer for the greater battle for your son’s health.
My thoughts & prayers with you & your family,
Sincerely, Mal

Well what an epic thread ! firstly I would like to add my thoughts and prayers for your boy. My nephew is about 4 years into remission from Burkitts Lymphoma - it's a tough battle to fight and your observations really touched a nerve with me, taking me back to that time when we were on a steep learning curve and visiting the childrens cancer ward.
Best of luck with both battles ! well, maybe more a case of congratulations on the battle won, and one more to win....

Re: Noble Boat <2yo Cracked and Sinking
Tony I did get your pm - thank you - we will look at everything with possibilities both natural and drugs still in trial - yes we will trial and find what works in a manner he will accept.
Poor little chap is suffering now - spent a good part of 1am till 3am crying and throwing up until he went back to sleep - the oncologist said this will be a lot harder on him than the previous high-risk treatment he had so expect a very sick child.
Mal thank you for the phone call and message.
Walruslike - yes every day it shocks me anew and I feel like my guts have been ripped out - no matter I will see the doc for that - swimming and yoga is helping some too.
Guys we do appreciate the sentiment, prayers and well wishes.
Ronnie had his Lutheran school pastor visit today - our boy is such a complex child but we believe he opened up and offloaded some of his burden in their one to one meeting for an hour.
Little chappie is recognised as a gifted child with an IQ of 1 in 100 - do want him to grow up and realise his dreams - I think they will blow me away.
Clonoid 4 years into remission is good - at 5 years they say you are 80% as good as cured where at 9 years 100% cured.
The boat went in for repair Saturday - should be ready in a week or two - must admit it sits on my mind for not even a second a day. Anyway I will put up some pics when ready.
Cheers

What your going through with your son is every parents worst nightmare, one we hope never to live through. Had to watch a good mate go through similar situation with his son, no one should have to go through what they went through and what your currently going through. So like many other's here we are thinking of you and your family and pray and wish for a happy outcome.

My Family and I wish you the best possible outcome for the future and hope that you are slightly humbled by the enormous amount of well wishes that have just touched another ausfish family. If there is anything we can do just ask...
