Re: yokohama GO12ATS tyre feedback
I have the Bridgestone Dueler AT on my Navara done about 45,000K with them and don't like them now the tread is getting down (there not bald by any means) but theirs NOT much grip in the wet. I would not get them again have been looking at the Yokohama's myself.
Still boat less, but at lot closer

Re: yokohama GO12ATS tyre feedback
I just got a set too, only 1500 kms so far, but feel nice etc.
I was going to get the 694 duellers but they are discontinued in my size, and the new 697 isn't made in that size. Glad I went to the Yokos so far.

Re: yokohama GO12ATS tyre feedback
By nature Yoko tyres are generally a softer tread which is great for off roading and on road grip but tend to wear down quicker..
I don't know the tyre you are talking of but I would put money on it that they would be a nice quiet and sure footed tyre while they last.

Hey ashh. You won't be dissapointed with the geolanders. Mine have done 20 thou on my SR5. Very happy with them in all conditions.
Have you got 15" or 16" rims?
Dan.

Re: yokohama GO12ATS tyre feedback
I had an issue with my Geolanders about 6 months ago. After buying a set for my Hilux I had a cut in one of the sidewalls within 5000km. I have a property in traprock country out past Stanthorpe and had run over a sharp rock so put it down to bad luck and the tyre was replaced under warranty. After this I was much more careful about where I drove but by the time I done 10000km another 3 tyres had sidewall cuts including the replacement with two of those tyres still remaining inflated. The yoko rep agreed to replace the whole set under warranty so I struck a deal with the tyre dealer to swap the new replacement Yoki's for a new set of Bridgestone 694's. I have done over 10000km now with the 694's without issue. In my experience the Geolanders seemed like a very soft tyre, excellent on the road and I would presume to be a great tyre for sand and possibly mud but they dont like rocks. I chose the Geolanders because of the road hazard protection warranty and this lived up to its claims when I needed it. Only problem was that the tyre has to be left with the dealer so the Yoko rep can come take a look before approving the replacement so you are left without a tyre during this process. This is OK when you are at home near the dealer but would be near useless travelling through the country. Therefore not a tyre I would recommend for remote driving unless you are staying on the black stuff.
Biggest problem I found with finding tyres for the Hilux is the limited options available. There just isn't a lot of 15" tyres with the 112 load rating required. I originally wanted BFG's but they make nothing to suit. I looked at the Cooper but I kept reading about sidewall issues with those so I stayed away. I didn't originally want Bridgestones as the originals that came with the car were slippery in the wet and seemed to wear quickly but the 694's seem a lot better than what they were. If I get a good life out of this set I'll stick with em.

Re: yokohama GO12ATS tyre feedback
thanks for feedback,
seeing as 80% of my driving is on road I think the extra grip with the yokos will be welcomed, especially as I carry a constant load.
It was a hard sway to not get the duelers as the last set that I had came on the second hand SR5 rims ($300 for set of 5 rims, 1 with still brand new tyre) other 4 with only about 30% tread left, but that 30% tread lasted another two years and wore even, but was slippery in the wet.
If after this set of YOKOs wears out and I didnt like em, I'd happily go back to the dueuler ATS if they have improved them..

Re: yokohama GO12ATS tyre feedback
I got the highway terrain yokos on my lux. They wear evenly and real grippy unlike the bf's. On my second set and don't have any Complaints. No problems when I went bush and good on the beach. HT's are quieter than the AT on the road
