if the initial plans are kept on construction,,,, this will have a major impact on unemployment in the area,,,, and "hopefully" get the top end of Caboolture River cleaned out and made more accessable,,,, here's hoping eh?

    MEDIA RELEASE
NORTHEAST BUSINESS PARK CONFIRMS FIRST TENANT

Northeast Business Park has confirmed its first tenant with machinery distributor Hastings Deering set to establish a base in the precinct.

An application for a specialized training facility has been lodged under the existing Town Plan with Moreton Bay Regional Council. Once approved, preparation will start to transform 23 hectares of the 760 hectare Morayfield site, with Hastings Deering preparing to create a specialized private operator training centre.

The proposed business park element of the master planned project has been delayed for almost three years while Northeast Business Park Pty Ltd fought a legal battle over planning conditions with Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Those issues are close to being resolved through mediation but are still subject to approval by the Planning and Environment Court.

The marina and residential components of the project are still a long way from resolution and are subject to separate court appeal.

With an agreement on the business park imminent, Northeast Business Park Pty Ltd has wasted no time in signing its first tenant.

Hastings Deering is the dealer for Caterpillar construction and mining equipment in Queensland and the Northern Territory. Its training centre will provide private training services for up to 300 specialist operators a year on both simulators and actual equipment.

Hastings Deering spokesman Noel Langton said the Northeast Business Park site was chosen for its proximity to the airport, and access to the Bruce Highway.

“We looked at other sites, but this is a bigger, better located opportunity where we will be able to move equipment on and off the site,” Mr Langton said.

Northeast Business Park Chief Executive Jeff Smith said he was excited and relieved that the development was finally underway.

“Hastings Deering is just the first of what I expect will be a steady stream of businesses wanting to be part of this master planned development,” he said.

With the resource sector continuing to drive the Queensland economy, Hastings Deering’s presence is likely to attract other mining services companies to the precinct,” he said.

The new State Member for Murrumba, Reg Gulley, last week visited the Morayfield site with Commerce Caboolture President Stefan Boni, and welcomed the investment.

“I’m pleased that this new training facility will bring much needed jobs to the local area and I am hopeful that this investment will be the start of ongoing investment in this project and the community in general” he said.

Mr Boni said the first tenant at Northeast Business Park was encouraging news for Caboolture business in general.

“Caboolture needs a positive injection and a project the size of Northeast Business Park can boost both confidence and activity,” he said.

Well, now the old dragon is gone, this will be a good thing for the area. Hopefully it will transform Caboolture and local area from a dormitory precinct to a full bustling production and manufacturing hub, which will have a side effect of jobs creation, not sure if all the locals would be happy with that.
The whole area will benefit and less will drive to Bris. And hopefully solving the traffic chaos heading south every morning.

this "development" has been in the pipeworks for nearly 6 years,,, there was at first (i believe),, a deadlock due to the initial tenderer going down the gurgler with the aftermath of the GFC,,, and then followed the normal redtape of CSC (MBRC now),,, I have been privvy to sighting the "Initial Plan of Development" and if it is still the same,,, Spinnaker Sound Marina will look like a lego building block compared to what is on the cards

It makes sense when you look at it now,,,, all the "heavy industrial" outlets that have moved into this territory over the past 12-18 months,,,, Major Earthmoving is situated right on its exit point to the Bruce Highway,,,(or near enough to it)

That seems like a lot to ask of an industrial estate. I admire your optimism but would be surprised if it achieved any of those goals apart from a bunch of new jobs ( a very good thing)

Still, we can only hope and wish the area well. I hope you are right.

IF,,, and i mean if,,, all is still going ahead to plan "A",,, this development is huuuuge,,,(760 hectares,,, 1900 acres)

with what i saw on the development plan the full environment of the park encompasses

    Marina, Aquaculture
    residential
golf club,,(this was scrapped i believe due to soil test,,,not really sure,, may have been money or a bit of both)
    shop/shopping ctr/food courts
    general amenities to cater
    and so on :

keeping in mind that this proposal is a "Park" not an estate,,

i do know tho',,, that if the Marina is still a goer,,, the Caboolture River is proposed for dredging which will have beneficial bonus's for the area in peak rain seasons,,, no more flooded Bribie/Bruce/Beachmere roads and highway

i am getting in touch wth the GM of the CBEC tomorrow,,, (my old nemesis from Nova Ford),,,, i'll hopefully get more info

Yep, we'll know when it really is a goer .... there will be a photo of a politician in a reflective vest and hard hat with a little stainless steel spade! (no doubt announcing the project is "shovel ready")

    Cheer,

We humans are strange critters. We do weird stuff like the 'symbolic' silver shovel sod turn.

Why we need some sod to shovel a single lump of dirt is beyond me.

thats great news choppa, í live at beachmere and with a young fella at 13 it gives me a little more confidence in the area for his future employment. others may disagree on the marina but in my opinion i think it will be great.

I was one of the original team member who submitted the whole thing, the feaso and everything was good and job potential is enormous for locals. The honorary ex MP was against the whole thing for reasons cannot be disclose, but I can catagorically say. If the current local mayor does not get on board and be reasonable in negotiations, the whole thing will be scale back to recoup cost.
The whole thing is exactly what Caboolture needed.
But green politics is the current flavour and hurdles are springing up after its all system go.

I wouldn't be looking to far ahead for employment in the park unless things pick up an awful lot. If you have a look over in Leer Jet drive etc there are empty factories every where, which used to be thriving businesses.

Dredging the river will not stop the flooding, the high tides will still be at what level they decide to be and coincide with the rain. The only way to stop the flooding is to raise the roads. Example is the north bound Bruce H/way at Caboolture which is higher than the south bound.

i applaude new industrial, commercial and residential development in our area but putting a 1400 berth marina (it will be one of the biggest in the southern hemisphere) in our little river is going to destroy it. call it nimby syndrome but it's in my back yard and i frikkin don't want a marina this big and i don't want our river dredged! flood mitigation what a load of krap!
