Hi Guys
I have kept the Tinka centre rollers as set up for the boat ex Tinka and delivered to Lindsay.
As I winch the boat on with only the bottom section of the rear tyres ie the rubber wet and the water only up to the bottom of the rear rotors the rear double roller is what the keel hits first with the rear quad wobble rollers on either side then coming into play.
Must have a look at the centre row of rollers when the boats fully on the trailer......... Ok dug up some pics, See pics above, looks like after the rear wobble centre rollers have done their job and the quad and double etc wobble rollers are in play the rest of the keel rollers appear to be in reserve?
Cheers

Re: Trim Tab size for a Seafarer Vagabond
Mine dont touch but care must be taken when loading or it will miss the roller.
I do drive on so trailer is in the water a fair way and I know its not good for the breaks and bearings but neither is leaving the boat and trailer in the rain. It is shedded and I have rarely had trouble.
Looks like we are starting a new thread here

Re: Trim Tab size for a Seafarer Vagabond
Hi Guys
This issue got me thinking so I figured I would ask the expert, ie the guy who used to build and supply the trailers to Lindsay at Seafarer and who I got to do some work to my Tinka some years ago.
So the word is that the centre rollers are not supposed to touch the keel as that may put too much stress on the boat as the trailer flexes as its designed to do with the boat secured to the trailer at the bow and at the stern. The trailer is designed specifically to carry the boat on the wobble rollers.
If you want to ring the man and ask specific questions I can provide contact details. If you need work done he is still working on trailers, from the job he did on mine he is good and certainly knows his stuff.
Cheers

Re: Trim Tab size for a Seafarer Vagabond
Thanks Chimo for following that up... I had considered adjusting the center keel rollers up to they just touched the hull, but thought they would make the hull roll over badly when driving onto the trailer... Glad I never touched them now..

Re: Trim Tab size for a Seafarer Vagabond
Hey Mick,
Purchased from Ebay, link is below, transaction was very smooth and goods arrived within 9 days of payment, basically paid for them on Sunday morning last week and they arrived yesterday.
I basically paid half price including delivery as compared to the Aus prices l had received and l also got the LED switch, if your going to buy a set l suggest you use the same seller as it was a good transaction for me and the item is brand new in the box as described.
All in Aus $
9 x 9 Tabs $380
LED Switch $100
Delivery & Insurance $110

Re: Trim Tab size for a Seafarer Vagabond
Mick l only found this seller by chance at the bottom of the page and he was the cheapest.
Not looking forward to drilling the holes in the transom, but l know it will make it a better beast of a boat from all reports once fitted, biggest challenge will be the placement of the hole through the buckboards as this is going to be a bit tricky.
Went to see a vagabond a few weeks back and his had tabs fitted (boat purchased second hand this way) which had molded covers from the buckboards covering the top of the actuator, very very neat finish, the owner assumes they came from Seafarer, does anyone know if you can purchase these from Seafarer as l might put a set on mine?

Chimo,
Have you ever seen such covers fitted to a Seafarer and is this an item that can be purchased from Seafarer?
Also how do you get the pic to come up on the post instead of the way l loaded my pic, with the link???
