Mark , Mark...where Art thou !! ...interesting comment in CM !!
Hmmmmmmmm...Several other LNP shadow ministers may also not make the transition with some insiders believing Jann Stuckey, Mark Robinson, Andrew Powell and Steve Dickson will miss out.

Would he not be better suited to agriculture? Being from a Farming family in Toowomba i doubt he would have spent much time on the water. (i could be wrong in thinking this)

QUEENSLAND'S new Premier Campbell Newman is unveiling his new cabinet.
Mr Newman says he has appointed 19 ministers as well as 11 assistant ministers, who are all parliamentary newcomers.
The new ministry spans all regions of Queensland.
Former opposition leader Lawrence Springborg will be the new health minister. Tracy Davis will be assistant health minister.
Mr Newman passed over Mark McArdle, who had been health spokesman in opposition.
Gold Coast MP Jann Stuckey will be the new tourism minister, assisted by new Cairns MP Gavin King.
Treasurer Tim Nicholls will also serve as the minister for trade.
Former LNP leader, John-Paul Langbroek who was pushed aside for Mr Newman, will be the minister for education, training and employment.
David Gibson will be the minister for police and community safety.
Jarrod Bleijie will serve as attorney-general and justice minister.
Scott Emerson will be the minister for transport and main roads.
Long-serving Moggill MP and former opposition leader Bruce Flegg will be the minister for housing and public works.
John McVeigh will serve as agriculture, fisheries and forestry minister.

John McVeigh, never heard of him,
might be a good thing if he knows nothing about fishing as he may start with a complete blank piece of paper without pre-concieved ideas. Most farmers are pretty no nonsense people to,

Now we know why Mark had nothing when pressed on a fishing policy- His Royal Can Doness was keeping Mark as a mushroom flavoured guinea pig.

Oh the shame! With a 19 new ministers and eleven assistant ministers, there was a 40% chance of getting a guernsey and our boy missed out. Bugger!
Oh well, politics is a catty game. There's no use lion about it. It would be hard to maintain one's pride when all of your mates from the last parliament are being so very well rewarded and your ambitions have been mauled.
Never mind, it is time for Mark to regroup and rethink his counter-attack. Like, are all of the appointments fair, or were there some cheetahs in there?
Maybe it is time to get the Puma's on, Mark, and race ahead and come up with some innovative fishing policies and wildcat ideas whilst all the new ministers are still hiring consultants to do situation analyses for them on their new portfolios.
If you do that, I am sure that you will be driving a taxpayer funded Jaguar in no time.
Then you will be able to pick up a few cougars maybe. Just remember the Lynx aftershave to make everything smell OK.
Of course, you might find more fame and fortune if you defected to that other party headed up by bobcat-ter.

I don't have a problem with it. Mark's time will come, and in the meantime I'll bet he will have plenty to do. He might even get out fishing. There were going to be casualties with 78 seats to make happy. I note no one here is crying about representation in the Bush, which seems to have been dealt with really well. Of course dwelling on negatives is about all the whingers have, now that their salty weeties have all gone down the drain.
I spoke with a Builder on Tuesday, he said there were two big jobs he had been waiting 12 months on, and both Clients rang him on Monday asking "When can I start?" You beauty. It must be cold comfort for the knockers to have a go at Mark, when the reality is still sitting in the driveway, with 8 seats...
Mark always knew that he was not a shoe in to the job, he has always managed his expectations well. He'll do fine, and I'm sure he appreciates everyone's good wishes. He will not be an invisible backbencher, his passion won't permit that. But neither will his discipline send him off helter skelter. I think he will do just fine, and maybe soon he'll have time to post a fishing report.

I hope Mc veigh does a great job for us but to me it looks like we are taking a step backwards to when fisheries was seen as a primary industry. This seems to be a major blow to recreational anglers and it reinforces the old National Party line of protecting the commercial fishing industry amd most importantly the export dollars it brings in rather than the value adding to the resource through recreational expenditure and fishing based tourism.
At least Mark will be able to avoid working closely with Can Do as word from BCC employees was that it was not a nice experience and he can be glad that he was not gifted the poison chalice that poor old Lawrence got shafted with
So many fish..... so little time

Tough luck for Mark - nothing is a guarantee in life. Gee I am more than happy to see DERM broken down but. Time will tell on the new structure, as long as saying someone is accountable means they also wear the shit when it hits.
