Re: Ubute Cookers
Mine is in the mail - I'll tell you when it turns up - if it turns up. As far as I'm aware they're only available online at the moment.

Hey prop dinger.....
I will be interested to hear what you think. in particular, how it handles breeze......I have the coleman Paul, and they are good, just a bit dissapointing when the wind hits it.....
Look forward to the review.

Re: Ubute Cookers
I paid $189 for mine, one of the guys had one over at the Moreton Island M&G recently and he said he paid $120.
When I looked at them originally they were around the $240 mark but definately seem to be coming down in price.
I like that you can run them off a standard gas bottle or the little coleman bottles, the little bottles are good for those quick trips where you don't want to much gear.
I think they would fit nicely on your bait board as well and just use the little coleman bottle rather than carting a gas bottle around in the boat.
Saying that, you could do the same with the Ubute ones as well.
Cheers

Re: Ubute Cookers
I have a single burner butane cooker and have found that any amount of breeze will kill the heat coming off the burner. It can take a long time to cook anything on it compared with a LPG stove.
I had a quick look on line and converted the coleman mentioned above (28000btu's) to MJ's and it rates at 29.5MJ, compared to the Ubute 13MJ, so you would expect it to cook a lot quicker.
It will be interesting to see how they actualy perform.
