Holiday sugestions

Hi everyone
I'm getting in early for xmass hol's next year!! It will be a family holiday wifey & 2 kids & one lad. We normally go down to Yamba at the end of the year take the kids out of school before school hol's because of the prices charged at school hol's
But than we have the problem with the kids on school hol's as we are working etc
We are looking at somewhere different maybe up North a few hours from Brisbane like as Yamba down South not too far travel time. What we are looking for is a place non camping, unit or house, close to good fishing as we have a boat & wife & kids somewhere to go what wifey likes hanging around going to the shops down the beach with kids etc etc I normally just go fishing fishing & more fishing & sometimes the misses comes along & kids just happy not being at school. Does anyone have any idea's where to start looking 1770?? I know it will be xxy but with my work school hol's goes down the tubes until everyone's back to work!! we have been going to Yamba for years now & looking for a change, we will most likley need to arrange something now as wife puts it!! to get into some of these places around the holidays have anyone had stayed at some place & recommend, as we all know keep the misses happy & the kids running riot keeps them off my back so I can go fishing fishing & more fishing. Sorry will be from January 1st 3weeks I suppose we can look at Yamba again if we can get in & pay the $1000 per week more for the same place!!

Have you thought about Hervey Bay? You can fish the great sandy straights, head north and reef fish or head offshore (not that you need to there).

Plenty of amenities for the family, safe beaches, good food etc. Awesome new water park for the kids etc

Day trips by boat or 4WD to Fraser Island.

Not too far away from Bris and would easily get in your price range.

We copped bad weather at 1770 and couldn't get the boat out (creeks and rivers really shallow) and not much else to do at 1770 or Anges Waters. (mind you that is the charm of the place if you dont have kids!!)

Burrum Heads youll love it! Nice quiet sleepy town use the ramp north of the shops. I have a holiday house there i rent out but its already fully booked in December but theres plenty of rentals there, better than hervey Bay its way to overpopulated these days!
