The big advantage of reef balls etc is you relocate them if they move or you want to remove the reef. I know its very unlikely to happen but its lot easier to argue for something that's reversible.

Personally I don't care what the authorities tell us we can and can't use. Just tell us where to dump it and lets crack on! With the EPA not really giving a crap about habitat destruction until it's political time it's up to us to get serious about creating habbitat.
    Lovey80,

Yeah, I hear where you're coming from.

They can use those pyramid shaped devices that was used in WWII to stop tanks. They are bloody big and heavy, you would need a crane to lift these buggers ont a barge and positioned on the barge in such away that she will drop straight down, you can have a few of these scattered and in no time there will be marine growth that will encpurage bait fish and predators alike.

Im in like flynn on this one.

Thread revival lol I got a dislike alert on the thread and thought I'd check it out. Bondy those pyramid concrete designs are still in use. The 4 sided one is known as a dragons tooth and the three sided one is called the tetrahedron. They are used to channel tanks into killing grounds as when a tank tries to climb them they offer a fantastic belly shot to the bottom the the tank. At over a tonne each hard to deploy from a rec boat though.
