moving 2 Mission beach

Hi folks,
Moving up to Mission beach from SA with my other half next month & we are really looking forward to the change in fishing styles so much. Will be looking at all types of fishing but mainly saltwater. Any advice on rigs, as in when to use heavy mono V when to use wire, types of lures or live baits would be very much appreciated. Looking on google earth the reefs seem to be within reach, am I right? Also if anyone knows if there is a fishing club in the area that would be great.

When you get there,
On Sundays at Mission on the beach [taven] on the esplanard they do a mean pig on the spit and all the locals go there.
I would think you would pick up a few tips over a cold beer.
They even have the kertacy bus. So no drink driving.

Cheers for that swampman, cold beer, food and maybe some advice. Only thing that beats a day like that is being able to spend a day in a takle shop buying loads of new gear and shiny things.
