Re: Wahoo
They will be fine to eat, it's usually only 25kg+ fish that are a bit risky to eat

Re: Wahoo
Wahoo are awesome to eat..
I think you will find that at any size they are ok to eat.
To my knowledge they arent a carrier of ciguatera....?

Re: Wahoo
Yep they should be ok to eat at any size being more oceanic in nature than spanish mackerel for instance who are prone to getting ciguteria.
I rate only yellowfin tuna better in eating as far as pelagic fish are concerned with maybe cobia close in third but totally different than say spanish fourth. The texture of wahoo is just that bit better than spanish so you can cook it however you like whereas with spanish I prefer to only BBQ it quickly.

Smithy,
I hear there is a spot on your next trip, are you leaving from Mooloolaba?
Would like to get a couple of dolphinfish along the way (if they are still around).
Send me a pm with date.
Cheers, Peter

Re: Wahoo
no problems eating any size - they are not a ciguatera carrier - no reported cases
