looking for a part need help

hi guys im usually on a local forum and thought i would ask here as its australia wide im in need of a johnson gearbox to suit a 9.9-15HP motor 1981 model hopefully someone here has one sitting out the back doing nothing

You should have no problems in getting a gearbox ,you could try the bay e or try some outboard wreckers they were a very popular motor .

all sorts of bits og outboards come up on ebay... but you don't need to be in a hurry.

you could also try outboard wreckers.

There is an outboard wrecker down at Yatla half way between brisbane and the gold coast.

ended up getting one from ebay tonight abit of a killer $110 for the gearbox and $110 for shipping from QLD to sydney lol but i need it...

Was it a split one or hub type??
If it was a split one (ie exhaust not through the prop) I should have one under the house.
What was wrong with yours??
Not much usually happens to those.

yep, for an '81 model I reckon it would be pretty rare to not be able to fix it quite cheap and easy.

it filled with salt and over the years of not being used the salt expanded and cracked the gearbox
