Lake Elphinstone
Has anyone fished this lake? Is it a Stocked Impoundment? What would I be likely to catch if fishing is allowed?

Wags

Re: Lake Elphinstone
G'day Mike. My "Guide to Freshwater Fishing Qld - Stocked Impoundments" has no entry for Lake Elphinstone. So presumably - its not stocked.

Re: Lake Elphinstone
Thanks Peter. I'll look for signs of life on the lake, try flicking some lures for a couple of hours, then if still nothing I'll go to the coast.
Cheers,
Wags

Last time we were there fishing was allowed but can't say what you would catch as the lake goes nearly dry at times.

How much water us there Wags. My oldied were heading there but decided not to as it does dry in times of no rain.
Get some cray traps. Mum and Dad have caught them there.
Might see you Sunday.
Cheers

Re: Lake Elphinstone
Mark,
The lake is full at the moment. The water is lapping the edge of the camp ground and to the south itis up into the barbed wire fence.

Re: Lake Elphinstone
It is apparently a very nice place to visit with hot showers and dogs permitted. I have been told that the neighbouring land holders bait just inside their properties to deter dogs, both wild and humanised!

Re: Lake Elphinstone
Thanks Camo. I was hoping to have a fish on my days off, but it looks like I'll have to go to the coast.
Cheers.
