Primus Fridges
I have just received a brochure in the mail from Anaconda advertising their latest sale. In it is a Primus brand fridge, the 40lt model is on sale for $599.00 down from $969.00
and the 80lt model is at $876.00, down from 1349.00
. What is this brand like? Are they any good?

Re: Primus Fridges
The primus, like the companion fridge uses a chinese rip off of the danfoss compressor. They are probably a good unit and if they last past the warentee period i think you will find they will be just fine. Worth taking a look on ebay though, cause I have seen them go for a lot cheaper than anaconda.

Re: Primus Fridges
I have thr 80lt model and used it for three weeks on a recent trip, used 13lkgs of gas.It kept things frozen and was a ble to freeze things down, just follow the instructions. They are a evaprative cooler type . they draw 10 amps on the battery so beware .Great unit and very happy with it Cheers Barfly

Re: Primus Fridges
I have just gone halves with my brother in one. They seem to be well made anf should do the trick. The stainless will probably get knocked around a bit but won't rustout

Re: Primus Fridges
One thing in its favour is the insulation. Running side by side with an Engel when you turn the power off the Engel heats up pretty fast but the Primus holds its temp much better.
