Not new, but new for me

Sick of clowns blasting past me in my canoe, so I bought a boat that will be used for creeks, the straights and dams. Boat is a Cruisecraft Cierra 1300 with a 20hp merc on the back.

Took it for a run a week ago and despite a stupid installation of the live well pump that flooded the boat when under speed, all when ok. She is very light, so motored along pretty smartly (will put the GPS on it next time) and handled the short chop without getting me wet.

In the process of modifying some of the things I didn't like with it and adding a bow mount.

    Cheers

    Nice rig mate.

I am looking at boats like that too, maybe just the next few sizes up.

Have fun with it - I know you will.

HAH! I was looking at that boat a few months ago. I didn't get to see it in person because I just couldn't scrape the cash at that point. It looked like a good river boat, I hope it serves you well.

Mind me asking what you ended up getting it for?

    Matt.

Well there you go, Charles Darwiin was right in so many differing scenarios, it seems likely now upon reading that even kayak-ers can evolve.

She looks a fantastic little boat Steve, the kind that will undoubtedly hold many fond memories - I know you would have checked out the transom etc so there shouldn't be any nasty surprises and it certainly looks a solid rig in the photo's!

I especially like the no BS trailer, looks plenty solid for light offroad which is a big plus.

    Happy New Year!

    Cheers

    p.s. Nice new Avatar Steve

Don't mind - paid $2k for it, $400 for the bow mount electric and about $300 in mods. Sweet little rig for well under $3k, makes it a pretty good deal in my book.

Cheeky bugger! This actually makes boat number 18. Most have been racing sailing boats/cat and I still have 20' cat. I won't be gettinf rid of the canoe though. Just the thing for sneeky water fshing.

Excellent! That's what I offered them back around September, but they wouldn't consider less than $2900 at that point, which was more than I was willing to pay for it, so I let it pass.

Glad to see someone who will use it properly has gotten a hold of it!

They were days away from having kid no.4, so i think the issue was forced a bit. I will probably be doing a bit of a fish in the Maroochy in a couple of weeks, so will give you a yell if you want to go out one day.

    Cheers
