which site to believe
weather seems to contradict itself on 2 different websites
one says 5- 12 (graphs) http://www.gcfishing.com/weather.html
[
other says 20-25(bom) http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/show_prod.cgi?IDQ17500
even though second link is on the 1st site if that makes sense
i notice this a lot... and have missed out on a few trips due to taking the poorer prediction
which site do most here take as the most reliable ??
site 1 says i am fishing tomorrow
site 2 says i am cleaning the work truck instead of the apprentice
i have one seat open if anyone is up for it

Re: which site to believe
Keep an eye on seabreeze.com.au also.
I find the independent weather station to be alittle more reliable than the BOM, and I think the simple reason is that the BOM being a government department do not wish to be held accountable for somebodys blaming them for taking a boat out in conditions that they could not handle. EG: BOM forecast 10 - 15 and some boofhead sees the 10 only and heads to Moreton in his 12ft tinny only to have it capsize or something more sinister and when quizzed on his decision to go he blurts out the BOM forecast 10knts!!! Next thing you know there is pencil-pushing-public servants ducking for cover in every direction because of that statement, so I belive that they cover themselves a with an extra 5 - 7 just to avoid such a situation.
However a site such as seabreeze, which was originally launched for the windsurfing brigade, would like to see more wind rather than less. They are also less likely to be putting peoples lives at risk if they get the forecast wrong and do not have to be so concerned with liability as a government department would be, all they will do with an incorrect forecast is ruin some dudes RAD windsurfing or kiteboarding weekend.
But I believe you should check as many weather reports as you can and nothing can substitue for sticking your head out the window, and you should never be afraid of just turning around and admitting that you were wrong and head for home if the forecast conditions are beyond your capabilities.

I find their forecasts are fairly accurate and it is customizable for your location.
I always cross reference any forecast with the current weather observations from the BOM.
