Fisher 430 -the new reef boat ???
I see an add in yesterday's Cairns Post for the new 430 Fisher Boats.
The first claim in the blurb is that you could (in capitals) ...."RUN TO THE REEF".
The hull pictured looks like just an open tinny and the specs suggest a max beam of 2m and LOA of 4.5.
I'm surprised they haven't tagged it the.... New Fisher 430 Offshore
.
A little bit of overzealous advertising perhaps or is this Fishers answer to rising fuel costs and budget reef boats
?????.

Geeze some of you guys are quick to criticise........ don't know why I bother sponsoring this site sometimes![]()
We aren't into budget reef boats either.
You'll see what our answers to rising fuel costs are in the future ,in the meantime why dont you have a look at the boats before you comment on here.

I have had a look at the new 430, through photographs on this site, and absolutely loved it. I would have no problem heading a little wide in that boat on a decent day.

would prob leave your stacer for dead disorderly.
col, i haven't seen the advert yet, but will look now, thanks to disorderly's 'constructive criticism'. Keep up the great work Col, I love innovation, and thats what some of your designs reflect.

Re: Fisher 430 -the new reef boat ???
How did my stacer get dragged into this, chopduster??
I am under no illusions about the true"offshore capabilities" (or lack thereof )of my old girl.
But for now she will suffice.
Nor was I knocking the Fishers...they certainly do have their fans alright.
Quite simply I was questioning the advertising of a 4.3 m tiller steer boat marketed as a reef boat.

Re: Fisher 430 -the new reef boat ???
I had a 3.6 metre tinny and i marketed it to all my friends as a BAR CRUSHER!
If i had the money id buy a fisher boat the 5-6 metre centre cabs looks so good

Re: Fisher 430 -the new reef boat ???
Disorderly,
Did your dealer tell you, you could 'run to the reef' in your boat when you bought it?
Could you run out to the reef in a LOA 4.5m x 2m beam open tinnie, rrrr, yes!
How many times have you seen a quintrex advert claiming to have a smooth ride?
Do you have a problem with E-tec's way of advertising?
Pull your head in mate!

Re: Fisher 430 -the new reef boat ???
I've got a mate in Townsville that regularly runs to the reef there in his 4.35 metre Allycraft side console, day or night. He's as mad as......but a damn good fisherman. So it's definitely possible in a much better boat like the Fisher.

Re: Fisher 430 -the new reef boat ???
I understand Col but it is true irrespective of the marketer/market/whatever, disorderly does have a point it's a little short for the word "reef" generally up here (little boats do go there), certainly a GC reef boat though.
Still a nice boat and all that, nothing to do with me but what about stretching the wetted length to the equivalent of a 4.6 overall but keep the weight/height/width etc near the same.
Yes we are just like a big bag of trailmix here on ausfish
cheers fnq
