    barra feeding

Here's a little clip I made up of my pet barras feeding on live prawns. They thought it was Christmas!

    Steve,

That's pretty cool, love the agro stripe down their face. How big are the Barra, a bit hard to tell on the vid and how old are they?

These little fellas are about 17cm. I got them about two months ago at 12cm. They've got lots of personality the little buggers.

    Nice, love the music too.

Interesting observing the different takes, some are just holding it in their mouth & other takes are more committed.

Great stuff, love how at first they just sit there almost nose to the prawn for ages b4 striking, a lesson about how to present your lure. Cheers, Pete

    Re: barra feeding

    Pete,

Exactly what i was thinking, makes you think about lure presentation ,especially plastics and prawn imitations like the prawn star, short sharp jerks like the prawns in the vid and bingo!!

scuttlebutt, do you go fishing for barra up where you live if you do, do you study how your fish behave to live bait and dead bait ... and presentation.
    I want some fish

Yeah Paul I do a bit of barra fishing on the Cape, though only use lures. I get to see a lot of strikes both on the surface and below. Barra love to sneak up on their prey and then "boof". They're fascinating to watch.
