    maroochy river / bli bli

    hey guys

few months back booked a charter with smithy for this sat, with my luck its had to be called off due to bad weather , so where gonna hit the maroochy river and chase bream and some mud crabs.

anybody know of any good spots to try out (other than cod hole) , i know of some structure round bli bli looks like an old wooden bridge posts sticking out of the ground, figure that has to hold some good ones, anyone tried that spot or know of any good spots to throw plastics for bream.

we'll be around the bli bli area , any other ausfisher be out there as well?

If you are chasing fish from the shore, I would definitely head over to pincussion. You will need to drive around to north shore, but if you fish on the rocks at pincussion or back in the river mouth about 50 yards there is some nice bream, tailor and flathead catching to do. Take your thrownet with you cause about 100m back from pincussion, there is a deep hole in the river that is good to catch hardyheads and small mullet. Best times are just after dark or the first hour of the run out tide. I hope you do well.

I spent last weekend end fishing / crabbing all around the area. I think we got 20 muddies and not one male !! Apart from one legal bream we couldn't catch a thing. Could only get a few yabbies, but tried squid, pillies, prawns & soft plastics.

There was still a lot of fresh from the rain the previous week, but we worked all the way up to the mouth without luck.

Hopefully you go better than us !!!

    Good luck.
