Ch21 today! Brisbane

Hey everyone! I found this forum tonight, Wow does it have some know how!

I was doing a bit of ears dropping on CH21 today whilst hacking around in morten bay catching nothing but baby squire . I heard some guys were landing Bill Fish offshore

I was impressed, I thought the Bill Fish were only around in Summer time could someone please infom me.. the Hack I am

Are they around all year long?
Do you fish in different locations from summer-winter??
Do you use different techniques from summer-winter??

You would have heard the boats fishing the Redcliffe 2008 Ladies Billfish Tournament. Yes Blue Marlin are there at this time of year, but they are out wide, the boats that were ooking them were Big Business - Four for the weekend, and In The Black (hooked but lost 5 for the weekend). They were fishing about 37 nautical miles off Point Lookout. You are welcome to listen in to the radio skeds whenever the Moreton Bay Boat Club Game and Sortfishing Club are having a tournament, better still, join up and learn where and when the marlin are here!

37mile.. holy **** by that I assume they are trolling around on the shelf? Do they just use plastics?

Do the boats stay offshore for the night or do they return each day??

What club do you think is best to join?? i live very close to Manly boat harbor, but am keen to travel around..
