After the third stall I pulled over and had a look under the bonnet.
He hadnt reconnected the wire onto the sensor on the airbox when he replaced the air filter.

I just plugged it back in and no more warning light and ran great.

sounds right . most cars that warning light will come on if the oxygen sensor has a hiccup

disconnect the battery for 5 mins and then reconnect . this should reset it
