Help air in the fuel lines

I had the Hilux serviced during the week at Toyota, and now am sucking air into the fuel lines after 4 days, how do I pump it out long enough for me to drive tomorrow and get it back to them come monday??

Trying to work out how that would happen if your fuel pump is in the fuel tank.
I don't think it would get air in the lines. You would just have a fuel leak.

But if your fuel pump is alongside your motor then there will be a bad join between the pump and the fuel tank, and your pump will be sucking air causing the problem. Check all joins and filter conections.

Yup, Roughas is right. There would just be a leak if its an internal pump. And usually they just blow up when sucking air. (typical commodore fault) Is it internal or external feul pump? Only other thing i can say is a cracked feul filter, but even that wouldnt cause enough air to mix with the fuel to cause a problem.

What engine etc... Sounds like a pump or injector problem. Maybe if you have taken it in water lately you have a wet/bad contact. More info needed

Hey Fellas,

The motor in a diesel powered vehicle will automatically shut down if the sensor in the fuel filter detects too much water.

In my Nissan Navara that symbol comes when that happens.!!!!!!

Draining excess water from fuel filter should fix problem.

The reason the engine shuts downs so quickly,is because water in diesel fuel will destroy an engine very quickly.

better add. Lose power and the light comes on, stop on the side of the road and the light goes off, rev the motor whilst sitting still and the light comes on. Drive lightly and the light stays off.

Oh ok. Thats about the worst light to come on. Definately some wirring issues. Have you disconnected the battery and leave it disconnected for a few minutes. So it reboots?

Hmmmm I'm not a diesel man that's for sure.

But if that was a petrol motor I would say that was the tracking wire on the throttle body causing that fault. For some reason and on Toyota's that wire gets dirty with carbon and only needs cleaning.

Toyota might tell you differant and wan't to put in a new throttle body and airflow sensor.

So my question is do Diesels have the same type of throttle body with the wire strip that when dirty puts the motor in limp mode.

over the last few days I have been puting in a dual battery setup. I disconnected the swap over and the second battery and all seems fine. Will report back tomorrow after a day of driving. Talking to RedArc re this problem

You been talking to my brother in laws, they know everthing there is to know about everything and unfortunately there mistaken. They Haven't got the slightest idea about anything.

On hiluxes if its your water separator its a yellow filter warning that comes up. So I doubt that is you problem.

Yeah from memory there cant be an air leak or air in the fuel line because if there is any crack / leak in the fuel line the pump will push all the diesle out of the crack resulting in a fuel leak of sort's regardless if the pump is internal or external....I think??

I had that symbol come up on the triton after a service.

Some of these mechs seem to be blind.
Kept on stalling when I pulled up at a set of lights or whatever.

After the third stall I pulled over and had a look under the bonnet.
He hadnt reconnected the wire onto the sensor on the airbox when he replaced the air filter.

I just plugged it back in and no more warning light and ran great.
