Hey fellas

I hope to have my new boat soon and would like to get out on the river / port alma and chase some salmon. I have only fished offshore around here as the last boat was to big for the river.

Whats the best tecnique for them. I preffer live baiting. Do I look for structure or hit the gutters?
Best tides?
I will have a FCV-620 sounder. Is there anything in particular to look for with the sounder?
Any advice would be appreciated.
