    sandyd dragon weave

Well after the rod building week end I have finally done my weave on my rod that i was building. I went to put the guides on and found that I am short 3 guides, Owen says he knows nothing. Yeah right. But besides that here are the progress picture and the finished picture.

About bloody time it was finished Sandy
    Came up real nice hey
I really like the colour combo.
Owen eh....what are you going to do to him for pinching your guides???
I know...don't cook tea for him or even worse...forget to get his beer

It's good to see some more projects.
It's been a bit bare of late.
Even Roz has been quiet of late.

    Cheers Scott

PS how do you get the last picture??
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

    That was easy!
I just stuck a 1mm cutoff wheel in the grinder.
A quick snip and spread it open!

It's just a composite of two pics.
How you do it depends on your software, but if you use Irfanview (free) you can create panarama images.
You just crop them so they match first.
You need to take your photos using a tripod so they don't move as you turn the rod, or pan the camera.

    cheers,
    Owen

    Re: sandyd dragon weave

Thanks for that Stuart and Scott. Funny thing is once I started it really did not take that long to do. Now if I can only get my missing guides to finish it off, then I will be able to post my next lot of pictures of my first fish on the new rod.

Stuart I am flattered by your comment makes me want to start another one and perfect this art.

I know myself what I need to do next time to improve.

Scott I have a better method then stop cooking him tea.
    cheers

    About bloody time Sandy!!!!

Looks brilliant, well worth it. You gotta be very pleased with the end result.

As DR once mentioned "now you can go out and get it covered in fish slime etc etc"

    will ring soon.

    cheers roz

    Hey Scott,

I'm still up at Agnes, will be until the end of November or early Dec (no computer & no rod building gear....damn!)..... weather has been crappy, so not much fishing as well....double damn.

I have been advised that I have to make a public apology to Owen.

    So here goes.

Owen I am so sorry for implying that you took my guides, but I never even gave it a thought that you, I mean you, would actually put something away in its proper place, there is a first for everything.

    I am sorry.
    cheers
