51cm Bass on a Jackal

Hi all,

I have started many topics on the ellusive JACKAL lure. After having not much success on these money sucking lures, I caught a wappa of a Bass of 41cm, which now takes me to 10 Bass over the magic 50cm mark.

I used a method of drifting over a school of Bass and dropped the lure to the desired depth and jigged the lure (yes jigged) It was a very vigorous take and took a bit of line from the reel. Can you believe it, the only time I didn't take the camera.

Throughout the day only caught around 40-50 Bass and KilKenny caught around 30 Bass. I think it was alittle quiet because the water temp dropped to 23oC, which is normally around 25-26oC. Anyway, still a good days fishing.

40 - 50 bass in a day would be a good day for me! a huge day actually. Next time take me when you decide to have a good one!! ha ha

i would be happy to get 4-5 bass... let alone double figures. 51cm's.. what a horse!

my best for a 1 hour session is 10 Bass. but nothing bigger than 40cm.
i cant fish all day while it's great fishing.
the middle of the day just fry's you to a crisp.
and if your wearing shorts maybe fry your nuts.

I am a bit of a fishing nut and when I go fishing, I start early and fish till late arvo. Sun, snow or rain. And I hardly sit down all day, maybe for a 5 minute lunch break. Then am always on the go, casting lures and fly fishing.

I just have to get it out of my system until my next trip.
