Hook removal is quite easy with a bit of strong cord & the hook tilted to the right angle (I know from personal experience). You don't need a tool. Search the web & you will find a few sites that show how its done.
G’day all
I have just picked a copy of Bush’n beach mag and came across an advertisement for “hook out”. Has anybody here used this product? What do you all rec’n? (besides don’t get a hook in you to start with!).

Yep,
bit of string or fishing line, push down on the shank so the barb is least likely to dig in and rip-er-out!!!!!!

Here you go. Two examples

The string technique doesn't work with Eagle Claw trebles or the like with a short shank and the barb that is not parrallel to the shank.
Ask my better half she will tell you
Has anybody had a look at the product that I'm talking about? It has a slip not on the end so the hook is secure, during an dafter removal.
Just rip it out !!!
It's good incentive not to do it again,
It's only a little hook #
Bring em up here, I'll get em out for ya
Trust me, it won't hurt
Regards, Tony
PS>>>> Brooksy...It's all in the action of the pliers mate
Trebles with barbs? Do people still fish with those things?
Nothing like a sharp fishing knife and a bottle of rum
of course the rum is for medicinal use only #
