    Snake Guides on Spinning Rods

I have a question for all the rod builders out there.
I read the other day that a "snake guide" like those used in fly rods is the most efficient guide - taking into account line drag, weight, castability etc.
If this is so, why aren't they used as the interim guides on spinning rods with just say a stripping guide and the tip being the more conventional type?
    Kind regards... David

Re: Snake Guides on Spinning Rods

they don't handle repeated highspeed friction very well and groove up pretty quick for what I've seen but having only seen them on some cheap fly rods mine is not a reliable assessment (I know they are on more expensive fly rods too but these may be higher quality, thus my little "rider" on the previous statement)
Any fishing is good fishing (should probably say Any fishing is...probably going to be illegal soon)
