Spanner Crab Information
Looking at doing some spanner crabbing inbetween going to the banks. I was wondering if there was someone that could fill me in on some information on these little bottom dwellers. Information such as traps/baits/locations/depth and size / bag limits ? Any information would be helpful. Btw will be crabbing the murphies reef area.

Re: Spanner Crab Information
You might struggle around that area , What we've found to be the best area is inside the northern banks only about a 1km or so .
Best baits are WA pillies , or I should say the only bait .
Traps are a square , double meshed hoop about 4 foot square
Around 50 to 60 meters
Size of legal is 10cm top to bottom either sex .
I think its 20 per person .
Hope this helps Sam...
