    Re: 1770 Roundup

Well well well, there goes another 30hr train trip. This was my first trip with rob and I had a rather enjoyable time. I noticed during the trip a few things:
    - Zeeker has a decent marble collection.
    - Chips on bread make a decent beakfast.
    - Don't let Zeeke near the axe.
    - If you wake up in a tent disco you're grunting loudly.
    - Rainbow trout have a tendancy to take 12kg of drag.
    - If someone has a speargun aimed at you relax, they're just testing their aim.
    - Soft plastics suck.
    - If Sean scares a shark to swim at you then jump on it before it gets you.
    - If you hear a herd of wild boars its probably just Jeff's tent.
    - All bream must be released unharmed carefully.
    - Buldger trevally require finesse.
    - Zeeke needs to take more photos.
    - The chicks at Gympie Matlida need to go easy on the eyeshadow.

yeh thanks for the comments on the aj, there was nothing particularly skillful about the catch just a brutal fight, and enough yelling that it must have been like childbirth, and no nice tasting red emp at the end of it just a throwback, its no wonder I think aj jiggers are insane! no weights but guess around 35kg. as for the rest of the fishn well it was probably more fun catchin a small treva on a popper, everyone caught plenty not all massive but lots of fun anyway.

    Awesome photo's guys

Heading up for my first 1770 trip this weekend with MICHAELG and a few others. Makes work this week quite difficult after reading your report as I know where i would prefer to be right now. 5 more sleeps to go!

    Rob,

I think you have sold yourself short on that weight estimate. Have a look at the pictures in the photo gallery of Damon Olsen's site. Some of them have weights and yours holds it own against all of them.
